My Story

I have never been happier or more fulfilled than I have been during the years I have worked as an executive coach. Working one-on-one as a thought partner and problem solver, working strategically and empathetically in pursuit of your solutions, is the role of my lifetime and one I invest with one hundred percent of my time, energy, and creativity.

I started coaching after having been an executive at two major studios in the entertainment industry. My experiences in working with writers and directors, as well as with legal, marketing and finance executives to get projects produced and/or sold, honed my skills in working cross-functionally, balancing art and commerce, giving impactful presentations and pitches, and creating effective strategic plans.

In my career, I was promoted over people seemingly more qualified because of my ability to communicate powerfully and convincingly. I was asked to work with other executives on their fears around public speaking and how to be more concise and dynamic presenters. This was my first taste of coaching, and I found it profoundly interesting and meaningful.

When I became a PCC and began coaching full time, one of the first things I did was flesh out the communications work I had developed at the studios. It evolved into a system I have taught to hundreds of clients and several companies — turning tentative, nervous speakers into intentional, compelling, and powerful communicators.

Communication was my way into coaching and a discipline I continue to research and evolve. Over time I’ve brought the same rigor to all areas of my coaching including executive presence, creative decision making, working cross-functionally, visibility and influence, branding, promotion, and career transition.

When I was an exec, I was often frustrated with quick fixes that didn’t work for me and by being asked to accept others’ advice as my own truth. Coaching has given me the chance to remedy this, as it is about finding the best ways for each client to create lasting change and to thrive. I am not interested in simply plugging leaks, accepting worn-out tropes or working generically. I want to make sure that issues are solved for good, not just for the moment. I guide my clients to the place where they can find root causes of behaviors, habits, and roadblocks so that they can do the work of finding new and more effective ways of thinking, working, and leading.

Coaching has made sense of my executive experience, my life experience, and my work as an audition coach, tennis coach, crisis counselor, and mindfulness teacher. It all comes together when a client and I sit down and the work begins.

I look forward to working with you — and to helping you discover everything you have to offer.
